The APWU and the Postal Service have both announced a tentative agreement has been reached on a new contract.

The APWU Rank and File Committee will meet 12/7/06 to review the proposed contract. The committee has several options:

1. vote to approve sending ballots to the membership for accepting or rejecting the contract

2. vote not to send out ballots and return to negotiations (may cause the whole process to be sent to binding arbitration if both parties do not agree to continue negotiating)

At this time no information has been released concerning the proposed contract. It will probably take several days before information is released.

It's been a long process but hopefully we will have good news soon!
